I think its fair to say I don’t know many people who work has hard as Ronnie Thompson.
Over the course of 2009 he completed three new books, two new TV pilots, sold and adapted his unpublished book ‘Bent’, as well as developing and consulting on his first short film ‘Stained’. To top it off, he and his partner also gave birth to their second son.
This means that over the next year or two Ronnie will filling bookshelves, taking over TV channels and causing chaos in cinemas with his graphic accounts of prison life, told through his raw and honest style of story telling.

First up and available to buy as of January, is his latest book, ‘Banged Up’. Following up from the success of ‘Screwed’ where Thompson gave an account of life as a prison officer, here he has teamed up with Davey Sommers, a working class drug addict who served 17 years behind bars.
This detailed and often graphic account of life as a con, doesn’t leave any stone unturned as Sommers lays bare the truth about life as a criminal.
It is a truly gripping read and a must buy if you enjoyed ‘Screwed’.

Whilst Ronnie and Colin have locked themselves away writing the feature adaption of ‘Screwed’, I’ve been keeping myself busy performing 1st A.D duties on a host of promos, commercials and shorts.
The most recent of which to be released, is the video for Groove Armada’s new track ‘Paper Romance’. This beautifully shot and directed promo by Hope Audikana of Stamp Films, was shot by DOP Axel Lindahl and is now available to view online!
As well as working with an array of talented promo directors, last week I had the pleasure of working with BAFTA winning director Daniel Mulloy on his new short film, ‘Baby’. Produced by Ohna Falby and funded by UKFC and Film Four through their Cinema Extreme Scheme, the film was shot on 16mm during a 6 day shoot, by DOP Lol Crawley.
Taking over 1st A.D duties from the awesome Bailey Marks for the final 4 days, saw us filming on all modes of public transport, as well as in and around North London, with a great crew of talent individuals! Look out for news about ‘Baby’ on Sister Films website
