On Sunday Tom and Lewis will be heading to Clermont to attend the 24th Clermont Short Film Festival.
With ‘Spirited’ taking part in the Short Film Market the pair will be hoping to promote the film and get it under the right noses at the festival as well as meet financiers, companies and organisations assocated with The UK Film industry.Â
With the pair now collaborating on ‘Stained’, they will also be using the opportunity to let people know about the slate they are developing with screenwriters Ronnie Thompson and Colin Butts.Â

No comments2009 Stained (short film)
Hard-hitting prison drama from director Lewis Arnold and producer Tom Knight, the team who brought us the 2008 digishort ‘Spirited’. The script is an uncompromising real-life account of life as a prison guard by Ronnie Thompson, who co-writes here with Colin Butts.

Stained development progress…

Since meeting with Screen WM in early Jan we immediately learned that we had been unsuccessful with our Digination application (£20,000) but had been put into development for a digishort (£10,500), were we will eventually have to pitch the idea to The UK Film Council.
Initially disappointed we have quickly dusted ourselves off and moved forward with both the script and the development. Ronnie and Colin have taken the twenty page script and have now turned it into a ten page screamer, making it very, very dramatic and giving myself and the actors loads to play with!
The film is written by Ronnie Thompson author of, ‘Screwed’. The film a fresh script is co-written with Colin Butts and follows Jamie, a prison office, struggling to come to terms with the crimes committed by Truman, a sick, twisted con, out to make the young screw crack.
The film gives the audience a unique insight into prison life from the P.O.V of a screw. I’m really excited about the dark, dramatic nature of the project and can’t wait to secure the finance to begin pre production.
We now have to resubmit all our new changes to The UK Film Council on the 4th Feb and finally pitch the concept to the panel on the 17th Feb. This means by the 20th Feb we will know whether we have the finance we need to make the short alongside Screen WM!
Fingers crossed!
